Troll of Olderfjord - Design Process

Here was my design process for the troll creature for my term 4 project: The Troll of Olderfjord. I wanted to show my design and thought process for this creature, as well as just showing off some other ideas for how he could have looked.

These first two images were just for exploring what sort of art style our team wanted to go with for the final images. We ended up going with an art style somewhere between 3. and 6.

Here's where I started sketching out ideas for what I wanted the troll to look like. I knew I wanted it to look as creepy as possible, while still keeping it recognizable as a troll.

Here is the final design I ended up using for my key art. I mixed all the different ideas I liked to create this monster. I kept the drawing loose since I didn't want to spend too much time on it and get started on the actual key art right away.
